Originally from Sydney, Australia. Casey Greene now lives and works in the U.K. and is based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. A unique talent and a skilled multi-instrumentalist, Casey is able to sight read and improvise across many musical styles and genres. He cites his main musical influences as classical flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal, Jazz saxophonists John Coltrane and Dexter Gordon and Latin players David Sanchez and Maraca.
Casey has been recording, writing and teaching music since 1985. He studied at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the direction of Mr. Don Burrows and graduated in Jazz Studies. Since then he has been committed to perfecting his art through the mediums of improvised Jazz, classical ensembles, television and radio appearances and world music groups.
Having emigrated to the U.K. in 2004 Casey is performing as a Jazz soloist in and around Shropshire, Wales, Birmingham and London, impressing audiences with his scope and versatility. Casey is currently focusing on Quiver, his own fusion band of Jazz and Latino Funk and The Casey Greene Quintet featuring the exceptional vocalist Laura Collins. Quiver's CD, Cous Cous was released in May 2007 on Rehab Records and features a selection of Casey's original compositions.
