The Pegasus Jazz Quartet
Nottingham Trent University Jazz Quartet In Residence.

When Matthew Hopkins, Head of music department of Nottingham Trent University, asked Casey if he could provide a band for an outdoor summer party for the NTU little did he realise that this was the catalyst of the formation of a great Jazz Quartet. “Who is the band?” guests kept asking including special guest Sir Michal Parkinson.

“As soon as we played the first 8 bars” Casey commented “I knew this was a group of 4 musicians that thought the same, felt the same and played the same.”

The music swings, dances and tells a story with a repertoire drawn from the 50s cool school and the Bebop genre. Casey’s ability to paint a variety of sonic colours with his many woodwind instrument is complemented and supported by a sensitive but driving rhythm section.
